Berks Arts Council’s 3rd Annual Berks Movie Madness
Film Festival, October 2-5, 2008, is now accepting entries
for its feature film and short video competition. The feature
film contest is an open competition, accepting films from
all levels of experience. All genres will be accepted: drama,
action, comedy, horror, experimental, and other shorts.
The festival is seeking films in three categories: high
school students, college students and adults. Please submit
through without a box.
Winners will be recognized during Berks Movie Madness Winners
Night at the RC Theatres, date to be determined.

Eligibility
The feature film competition is open to everyone. The short
film contest is divided into three age categories: high
school students (Grades 9-12 in 2007-2008 school year);
C\college students (Under the age of 25 and enrolled in
an undergraduate or graduate program during the 2007-2008
school year); and adults.

Fees are waived for all Berks county high school students
submitting short films.

CATEGORY RULES
Submissions to the Berks Movie Madness Film Festival can
be filmed or created in any format (film, digital video,
animation, flash, etc.).
All films must be in English or subtitled in English.
Runtime
Shorts: From 2 minutes to 50 minutes
Feature: From 50 to 180 minutes
Premiere status is taken into consideration for every submission
with priority given to national premieres.
All films must not have a major theatrical release or broadcast
airing.
A media kit is not required to submit your film but if
your film is selected, you will be asked to provide: headshot
and filmography of director; black and white and/or color
stills from the film; press materials; and a video trailer
(if one is available).
Preview DVDs must be labeled with title and running time.
Screening copies will not be returned. Please do not send
originals.
Submission Format: USA-Region playable
DVD (DVD-R, DVD+R) at XP (Highest) quality (Full screen
Hi-resolution). No other media formats (VHS tape, etc.)
will be accepted.
All film entries selected for the festival grant the Berks
Movie Madness Film Festival the rights to footage, stills
and/or titles and information from the film for promotional
purposes.
